Where motion comes from
Movement travels through the mattress when one sleeper changes position, gets in or out of bed, or shifts weight.
Foam and coils
Foams can absorb energy, while individually wrapped coils reduce the direct connected movement of a traditional continuous spring unit.
Edge and bounce tradeoffs
A highly responsive bed can still isolate motion reasonably well, but responsiveness and motion damping are not identical qualities.
